Microsoft Planner and Microsoft Project are apps that help teams collaborate, assign tasks, manage work, and get projects done. In this session we'll take a look at how the apps are similar yet different and how they are used to manage work and projects. Then we'll look at the new features we plan to launch soon for these two apps. Approximate running time 15 mins.

Speaker: Cathy Harley (Senior program manager on the Project and Planner team at Microsoft)

Simple requests for Planner… due dates for checklist items and the ability to assign checklist items to users.
The Gantt feature would be a valuable addition, too. As is, I found a PowerApps workaround, but it is clumsy to not have it housed under one roof.

Excellent!! Convergence concept coming real. Teams arrived as a workstation collaborative working. I'm excited to share all these interesting features to the company I work for. Thank Microsoft.

Make project available to all users without extra plan and we can do without Planner and Todo. 3 apps for the same activity. . Invite external Team members to project must be on highest priority

I've tried to live with Microsoft tools for 2 years. They are the most fragmented and confusing ecosystem I've ever seen. It's a nightmare for small companies.

there are so many services out there offering simple Gantt chart. why? that's what we want. we need Gantt/timeline view for Planner.

Simple requests: recycle bin so we can restore accidentally deleted tasks, Roles and Permissions for more control, Enhance the commenting system, due dates in checklist, subtasks

What is called 'Project' in this context is in no way related to the Microsoft Project platform many of us use and cannot be integrated into the larger corporate planning efforts.

Loop...flags, to do, tasks, planner..that merger is still very painful. Project, we still buy on premise with just a few licensed. We only need a timeline in planner...too complex in Project. The fact that we hire an entire human for Project says it all...not user friendly. If planner and project aren't the same thing, please clear up Loop components. I see tasks in the Loop demo but looks to be a word checklist ...can it be planner or project....We have dashboards in Power BI too...yikes. We need MS's unified vision for project management. I want to hear something like design target is this type of project for this, this higher risk project is targeted with this, this role uses this product while that role uses another but it's all the same thing. I am hobbling solutions together because basics are missing from each one.

A back-up of a plan or restore deleted plans/tasks is still not implemented or planned... Despite the fact that the updates are great. This is way too less to be competitive with other tools...
