Finding the initial velocity for a launched ball

Here, I will shoot two balls straight up. In one case, I will measure the max height in order to find the launch speed (initial velocity). In the other case, I will measure the time it takes for the ball to come back down.

I lied. I am not actually going to measure these things - I am just going to show you how to calculate the initial velocity if you did measure them.

I hope you see this in the next few hours because i have an exam tomorrow. When we throw the ball upwards and then it comes back after 8 seconds. Whats the h max and whats its initial velocity?
I did my maths and h was 627.2 m correct me if im wrong please. But the Vo was different every time with the formulas you gave so im so confused

Also 😭 how do i do this :
a projectile is thrown at angle α with the horizontal. find this angle if the distance is 4 times greater than the maximum height.

How do you find the Maximium height?
