Today, we visit producers in Arkansas and Oklahoma who raise cattle in hot and humid environments. Heat tolerance is an important trait for them, but they also don’t want to compromise carcass traits and mothering ability. Red Angus cattle are important to their success, because the breed’s ability to thrive in hot climates translates into strong economic benefits on sale day.

Has the RAA done any test, studies on Red Angus X Senepol? I think that cross would be interesting for us down here in the south. I am in East Texas. Very hot and humid.
