How to hang plates on a wall

One of the number one questions I get asked on my blog is how I hang all the plates in my kitchen without using metal plate hangers. This is my easy solution that I have been using for years.

Be aware that sometimes the hangers won't hold, so do not use them on valuable porcelain. Ask me how I know :-)

Can you use these to hang a plate outside, or is it likely to slip off after rain, etc.?

Good for small plates (like the 3" Wedgwood jasperware). Heavier plates (like platters, 10" dinner plates) will hang for about a year or 2 but eventually the glue on the back of the plate will separate. Ask me how I know.. woke up to big disaster.
