Nice work, your Video about Thermal Paste Application Methods is way better than the one of LinusTechTips ;)

It simply does not matter how you apply the Thermal paste, because the mounting pressure squeezes all the remaining thermal paste out the sides, so if you apply "too much", the only dowside is the mess around the CPU Socket.

thanks for showing this, last week my Fat PS3 died YLOD luckely a have a new Boxed Unit but iz 13 Years never used, i open the new PS3 the thermal paste was dry and like dryed Gum in Peaces, A Replaced the Paste with Ceramic by Artic Silver (fisrt time in my Live) a spreaded with the finger and at the end a puttet a bit in the Mittle . Hope iz fine ?. The PS3 Runs good somethimes certain Games it Reaches high level of Fan use Level 5, 6, 7 .

you didn't use a heat sink... the point of the thermal paste is to seal it up to the heat sink for better heat dissipation.
