EZRED Battery Maintenance Kit

Over all it’s a nice kit for the price. The ratcheting box wrenches are “meh” but the other tools in the kit make up for it.

I've been organizing my tools by category using those 5 gallon bucket buddies. One for plumbing, one for home electrical, one for automotive electrical, one for drywall, etc.

I also have a bunch of clear totes that I use to categorize various consumables and other things that don't fit in the bucket buddies. Works good for me.

That little puller is great for stubborn windshield wiper arms as well.

Saw terminal spreaders at work, never knew what it was for until now. You taught me about the tiny screw holding screw driver and terminal spreaders, tools I saw in an old cabinet at work that the last maintenance guy 15 years ago left.

I've had this set for several years now. Only use 3 of the 7 tools, the terminal spreader, the terminal puller, and the post cleaner. The terminal spreader i had to grind down to fit because they were to fat. Set is still worth the money and much cheaper than the tool truck brands.

I'm long retired now, but I have a homestead, plenty of tractors and a machine shop/welding shop on the property. You wouldn't believe what rodents will collect! Yes, "shiny" tools were going missing. My brother (who shares the land with me and has his own house on the property) mentioned his tools were vanishing along with his wife's glass ornaments in her garden.
Yep, they were found in what must have been an abandoned raccoon den or fortress. Yes, fortress considering the tools were lining the "walls" of the den as to give that hideout makeshift armor plating.
We laughed hard when we pictured some raccoon thinking, "Shiny AND protects me from coyotes!"

Oh! Hit comment before writing what I meant to write... yes, lost tools get a delay before any action is taken. Sometimes they show up, sometimes the masked bandits find a way to steel plate their own homes. Wait a bit before you go buying replacements (unless you absolutely need it ASAP, but in those cases, you always find the lost tool the exact moment you complete the task)

I'm on my third re-org. I ended up back where it all started...the garage. Thank you for these though. Getting back into doing some of my own vehicle work.

I am with you on the ratcheting wrenches. I would rather have a 6 point 8mm or 5/16 for the POS side terminal battery that GM used for decades. 12 point wrenches round off the soft lead.

I would add a 6 point 8mm, a 13mm wrench and a small pair of vice grips for when all else fails.

I am really enjoy the content. Keep up the good work.

Price isn't bad. It's about $20 less than my local auto parts store. Seems it works as advertised. Good buy imo.

Another reason to keep your battery service tools separate is they get absolutely destroyed by battery acid.

FOR OBSESSIVE MECHANICS ONLY:
One big concern is getting terminal clamps on/off the battery without cracking the case or causing internal damage (hammering and prying = bad; spreaders and pullers = good). Have used a lock ring plier (spreader type) to loosen a lead clamp from battery post by jamming it into the gap where the bolt is.
As others have written, brush-type post cleaners are too tight on positive battery posts. A Dremel tool with a grinding bit (stone) makes the brush hole big enough for positive posts. (This means you need a second, unaltered, post cleaner for negative posts - totally worth it)
Similarly, a clamp-end brush might be too fat to fit inside the negative clamp. A bench grinder narrows it down and tapers it to fit. (Need a second, unaltered, brush for positive clamp - worth it.)
So you end up with two customized brush-type clamp/post cleaners, one +, one -

Sometimes I misplace tools as well....Yup, misplace it. Then I gotta go get a new one I've been eyeing. Funny how I almost always end up finding the old tool.

You should do a review on the Thor hammer tool box. I would like to see how cheapo the tools in it are.
Thanks. Thanks for the good reviews on tools and I enjoy your short videos

I've cut a few of the new terminals off and replaced with normal. Dealer wanted almost 200$ for a cable assembly because they came one piece.
