There's not too much you can do about a nuclear meltdown, and there was little humen error.

Could it have been prevented??? IMHO, if alternative energy sources had been The spent fuel rods just by themselves will basically never go away and they continually accumulate which is a constant hazard and disaster waiting to happen.
