Hello! I would like to know if you use IPA in your course. It helps learning a lot. Thanks!

As someone in Australia with a bachelor of computer science and a masters in cyber security, I have never heard anyone pronounce router rooter. Though we tend to simplify the pronunciation where possible so it often sounds like "routa" or "rouda."

Saying that many of the systems we use were designed using American English. For example, code setting the colour of a button on a website will usually use the spelling "color, " not "colour."

Also, "root" (like the tree root) is another common technical term referring to the starting point of a computer file system, so pronouncing them in a similar way may cause problems.
