I don't think he's really going back to his old ways, just doing what they want to keep maggie and son safe. He might not accept Maggie's help at first, bc he wants them safe, or maybe he believes he could really take over and chage that place, but just needs to play the role of old negan to do it

I enjoyed Dead City, but I feel like it's a spinoff we don't need. The conflict between Maggie and Negan was already played out in the main show.

I always thought a prequel series of the events that happens after "heres negan" would be cool. To show how Negan, Laura and Franklin took sanctuary over from the r4pists. Show how it was, then how it all came to be, the way we know it. Have it all play out in 10 episodes, showing Negans perspective of what do you envisioned for sanctuary, and the finale being them trying to figure out who is killing their ppl at the outposts, then show Negan inside of the RV, pondering what hes going to say and do, then we hear a knock and a very faint "lets meet the man" and we see Negan taking a deep breath and getting up, the camera facing his back showing him from behind walking out to reveal the group kneeling in the clearing. While keeping the camera behind negan and showing the back of him, have the finale end with "we pissin our pants yet" after they have showed everything of how the sanctuary became. I do wonder how Franklin (Lauras dad)had a part in creating the sanctuary and what happened to him.
