first of all. thanks to your lecture. but i have question. bragg's eqation is n (lambda) = 2 d sin(theta). now i see how we measure d. but. we know (lambda), sin(theta), but n is assumed at this lecture. whatever. how we can find out n ? not aussumed.

How would one measure both the angle and distance of two adjacent molecules, as is necessary to identify protein structure? Do you get unique diffraction patterns with this equation for both angle and distance? Or is this equation only useful when two of the elements are known from X-ray diffraction and a third needs to be found algebraically?

But what about heterocompounds, this would be valid for homogenous compounds but different otherwise right?
