Ricky Gervais said it best: You can't say something is offensive, you have to say you find it offensive.

It’s hard for me to imagine that there are educated young people out there that actually think the government regulating speech is a good idea…crazy

Hate doesn’t exist in words. It dwells in the mind and soul. You cannot police what you cannot know with certainty. Thought crime facilitates totalitarianism not justice.

Salute for even being able to follow that question

The young man applauded Jordan's response. Jordan is the most articulate defender of free speech we know.

The Scottish mistake can be highlighted like this. If JK Rowling spoke the truth about biological sex - and then she was attacked verbally and in writing by activists who hate her for speaking the truth - can those activists then be charged for their own hate speech? And should that happen immediately so that clarification is determined?

We should NEVER curtail free speech to accommodate the fear and fragility of others.

Hate speech to some isn't hate speech to others. The trick is the individual controlling their own emotions.

They want to legislate the prosecution of 'thought crimes.' Of course they won't call it that; but that's what it is.

Forcing people to be silent will not change who they are, what they think, or how they feel. Nor will it result in those people wanting to hear what you have to say.

The definition of hate speech is simple: it's anything that a narcissist hates hearing.

It is not enough that you know the truth, it is essential that you have the courage to speak out.

That kid is in love with the sound of his own voice and accent.

No one gives a toss about this student's self-perceived notion of "harm." The very fact he's so vocal about weaponizing "harm" to shut people up illustrates that he can't be trusted as an arbiter of what "harm" means, let alone to dole out punishment to people he thinks cause it.

Kid rants about other people talking loudly and aggressively whilst talking loudly and aggressively.

He seems utterly possessed.

This is a wisdom that should be taught to kindergarteners in the US. It's not that hard to understand. Trade offs with everything - if you don't have maximal liberty in speech, your society will blow.
