China turns waste into treasure, using 600 tons of garbage to build highways

For example, the country has utilized construction waste, such as bricks and cement blocks, as roadbed materials, reducing the need to purchase gravel from distant sources. Waste tires, which are difficult to handle, are turned into granules and mixed with asphalt for road paving. China successfully built the Xixian North Ring Road in Shaanxi province using 600 tons of garbage, saving land resources and reducing resource consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. It makes sense. New Zealand and Australia converts their landfill into Rugby Fields and sporting clubs when they close down Landfill Tips. But, combining them into the asphalt is a better use discriminating size and material quality and quantity requires a lot of sifting machinery which means costs and time which many waste management industries especially in developing Nations lack, at least at this juncture. But, China and other more developed Nations can utilise this waste management resource for infrastructural use such as road networks.

China is showing the world that megalomaniacal countries cannot stop a country so determined to show the world how it is done. The idea of using anything with cement to form concrete was shown by the Romans to work as their concrete is still around 2000 years later, it is modern concrete that is the bain of construction, only lasting up to 100 years. To have found a process that works with modern building materials is revolutionary.
