What is DevRel? What Developer Advocates Should Focus On

DevRel (Developer Relations) is a specialization in the tech industry with plenty of new jobs around. You may have come across these if you've seen "developer advocate" or similar positions as part of devrel. There are however, problems with the way the jobs are managed or done. This video talks about what it actually is and sets a direction for it. Spoiler alert: it's about relations, being an advocate, and investing in people.

It's DevRel, not DevSell.
Though it is often associated with marketing, it is not marketing.
While there are attempts for it to be measured, it is hard to measure.
