Kobayashi could show that strength only because she had nobody else who loved and cared for her. She was not brave. She was desperate. Her family, coworkers had emotionally abandoned her.Tohru and Kanna were her family.Tohru felt like a beacon of light in absolute darkness. That's why she had courage to face the Emperor of Demise. Imagine living a life with the only one who loves you and you reciprocate those feelings. Someday an Almighty being comes to take her back. No matter who that is, of course you would stand up against that being. You would, because you have no choice. You oppose and you die. But if she is taken away, your life will be no more than slow excruciating death.

As a father, however, the emperor of demise's actions are entirely justified. No parent who do love their child would ever want him or her getting hurt.

Can you imagine Kobayashi fighting Kanna's dad in the show!!! Her learning magic and figuring out where gods sword went!!! I would totally love that!!! I just finished reading the manga and I'm a bigger fan of this series now!!

I really liked the look of fear in Kobayashi's face after the emperor of demise hit her glasses knowing full well he could kill her if he wanted to but still managed to overcome that fear with a much stronger fear due to her loneliness. I like same-sex love (yuri/yaoi) when it's not forced/politically motivated.

Funny thing is tohru's father is just an teen towards very ancient dragons who literally are gods, some of those dragon have a very incredible transformation spell so convincing that their blood restructure everything just to mimic human DNA
