In the late 80's and early 90's, Caterpillar did supply center-pivot and side-shift backhoe loader models to North America. The decision to stop this was driven by the lack of customer demand. North American customer demand was and continues to be highly concentrated on center-pivot models. We continue to listen to our customers and are prepared to react to significant changes in demand. As it stands, demand does not support a re-introduction. Thank you for your feedback on the F series.

With these 444F's were in the US. I could see them goin to use pretty well in the oil fields. Plus they just look bad ass

If CAT has the intelligence to design and build such a versatile piece of equipment, as this is, why don't they have the sense to offer it in North America and Canada. The centre pivot design is out-dated and dangerous but still offered. Operators are being cheated out of modern equipment..

A very good machine indeed, let down by check valves which makes it impossible to grade with to a high standard.

Most of the Cat dealers I've asked for a sideshift, don't even know what one is!!! so how could potential customers demand one? As we know, the sideshift IS, a SAFER, more productive machine. There is ABSOLUTELY NO benefits of the centre pivot over the sideshift. I'm sorry fella, but re-introduction only means putting one on the lot next to a c-pivot. Put me, or ANY experienced s-shift operator on one to demo and BOTH you AND every operator will see the drawbacks of the c-pivot...cheers.
