I found the greatest two chord progression

I wrote this song to show off one of my favorite two-chord progressions. This progression always feels very powerful to me, especially with these low voicings. Bonus points for anyone that can tell the musical inspiration for this song (especially the last few chords/notes).

For the music theory nerds, the progression in this key is D major (IV) to F# minor (vi). When the strings come in, the D chord gets a juicy extension to Dmaj7sharp11.
