Miles From the Hard Road being played on the famous one-of-a kind 1933 D-28 formerly owned and played for many years by Norman Blake. Being a huge Norman fan myself, I grew up listening to this guitar on records as well as seeing him perform with it. In the past I have had the opportunity to play it a couple of times, but it would always be in a very loud environment such as a guitar show exhibit floor. This was the first time I was able to spend time with this guitar in a quiet environment and actually record some with it. Many thanks and appreciation to Gary Burnette of Bee-3 Vintage for allowing me this opportunity, and also thanks to Charlie Crowell for helping me set up the room to record and running security at the door. I have a few more videos that will be released soon, but the first song I played was one I composed called Miles From the Hard Road (also the title track to my latest CD).

Pretty tune. Must've been a real treat to have your hands on such a special guitar.

Serving the guitar justice, one gentle pick stroke at a time.
