My best doorbell automation (aqara button) is that if it's pressed in a specific secret sequence, it will unlock the door. That is used as a backup option if my phone is out of battery and no-one's home.

As a former Crestron, Elan and RTI programmer and systems designer I am staggered by how commonplace and affordable these things have become. Now easily replacing relatively complex routines and 'macros' and tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment just a couple of decades ago they have developed AI and sensors that are essentially free comparatively. It went from 'toys for the very wealthy' living in custom-built homes to intuitive, sensor-laden gadgets that have become everyday essentials and now suit every budget.
