I'm just in the throws of starting to learn morse code and found this talk interesting, I'm starting this new road at the age of 61 so it's with some trepidation but as was said in the talk, we should be doing it because we want to not because we are forced so I hope age isn't the barrier it is often made out to be.

I can't tell you how many times I've had my "us army leg iron" pinched when I when to the privy. Hi hi so hack saw blades did seem to disappear from the motor park. The Stanley "hack saw"blade and a thumbtack had to be pressed to service. And even in retirement seems the novelty of a "leg iron" draws attention best of luck to you. De kv4li. Ps Qrp crazy with kanga kits. And a lot of pluck. Gets it done 73

Nice presentation I've been doing cw for 31 years 10 in the U.S. Army and 22 as a ham. I learned the old way lol.

Good talk, but a tad boring!
He's correct in saying that any 'method' of learning the code is OK.
I learned the code by sight, and then changing-over to sound.
This method is harder but it worked for me.  It's largely frowned-upon these days.
Motivation and practice are paramount, along with the 'repetition' he spoke of.
I've never met anyone who couldn't master Morse Code, and communicate effectively
with Can Do It too.

I've found in my 35 years of Morse code that I'm the oddball out most people can send faster than they can receive I'm the opposite I could always copy faster than I could send I have a hard time sending any faster than 25 wpm and that includes paddles or any other type key i can copy upwards of 40 wpm anyone else have this situation?

Stand still dammit!!! Going in and out of camera is so annoying that I shut it off at 6 minutes....way too much talk and moving around.
