The real heroes are the parents. They tried their best to care for their daughter and make her feel loved, but when greed ate through her (quite literally too) she demanded and spent thousands of dollars of their money. She berated them and even threatened to unalive herself, manipulating them. Still, her parents gave her THEIR OWN flesh! Geez, they're amazing

So let me get this right, Yae-ji became rich and famous, but did nothing to help her parents, especially after all that they've done for her, and what she put them through.

I remember in the original when the mom comes in the bathroom, she doesn't realize what's happened and drains the nasty tub only to realize she DRAINED ALL OF HER DAUGHTER'S FLESH. Only a few bits of her body remained in the bottom of the tub. It was horrific and the parents sacrifice not only flesh but body parts like legs and arms to rebuild their daughter.

I recognize the story and I’m shocked how many people say it has a webcomic. The version I remember was written and even more graphical. The main focus of the story is still there. In the comic this is based on, we find out in the prequels that the inventor of Beauty Water, a plastic surgeon, created it from melting dead girls. In the sequel, it’s hinted that he moved on to alive girls, as the new Beauty Water is more potent and works faster.

The comic is part of an anthology series, “Tales of the Unusual”
