great explanation of this was looking to see if there was a better way to connect to the app lol. the canon app is by far the worst part of owning a canon camera. God forbid they make it easy and reliable to geotag pictures using your phones gps. never stays connected

You forgot to mention that every time you leave the app to edit in photos you lose the WiFi connection and have to go through the whole reconnect process again. In some applications the app is good, in others its a nightmare.

Can the R5 auto connect to a network by just powering it on with the WIFI settings active? The 5D Mark 4 used to do it, especially nice after a battery change having it just reconnect on its own.
