Bad news for people using Copilot Plus PCs. You can't uninstall recall from your computer, but if you are in the EU, Windows 11 needs to comply with the European Commission’s Digital Markets Act. Microsoft has already had to add an uninstall option for Edge.

As much as Microsoft tries to describe the Recall "feature" as benign and user friendly, their actions tell a different story. I can turn on or off plenty of user friendly features of Windows 10, and Windows 7 & XP before that. But now Microsoft says that removing Recall, a feature whose sole purpose is to collect and store data on all of your user activity, is non-negotiable. Actions are always more important than words. What they're doing with Recall shows you how important it is to them. Do you really think you can trust Microsoft to NOT collect all of that data when they're going to these great lengths to ensure you can't remove Recall???

Allowing Recall to be uninstalled would negate the whole purpose of microsoft wasting billions of dollars to build huge data storage facility's around the world like they are currently doing. So you can bet there is no way microsoft is going to allow it to be removed.

I can confirm Microsoft's Recall "feature" will never be installed on my computers. This will require an OS change in a year. Oh well, if that is what is required to fight for my freedom and privacy, that is what will happen.

Microsoft needs to allow everyone everywhere to delete any software that isn't necessary for the proper function of Windows. This includes Edge, Co-Pilot, and Recall.

I just hope my computer is too old.
