How to Install Android 2.2 on Your HTC HD2 (Part 1/2)

This is a walk-thru video of how to install android onto your HTC HD2. This video features the newest verison of Froyo with HTC Sense (version 2). All thanks to Darkstone.

2. Extract the media folder to the Android folder on your SD card. Then boot android again and it should work

@joethebom remove battery and try again, you will also have to flash a new radio to stop the blue screen from happening when you try to boot.

@ussike22 what do you mean? Most other HTC phones are already running android OSas standard. This is designed just for the HTC HD2, I'm sure there are probably development on other HTC non-android phones.

@hickspaniic18 what radio do you have? When you turn on your phone you see the 3 red lines of text on the bottom left of the screen. The one that starts with R is your radio.

@ChargerANG Yes, after Android is booted up. Turn the phone off. Turn phone on again, go into file explorer and boot android again. I believe it just helps it run smoother

@randyorr523What radio do you have. When you first turn on your phone, you see the 3 red lines of text on the button left of your screen the one that starts with R is your radio. You will likely have to flash a new radio either 2.10 or 2.12

@gantz259 you just save the file, you don't have to save it as a winrar file. When you go to your downloads then you should see the WinRaR logo next to the file.

@GreenMetalDragonLoc some people seem to experience this, it's either you will have to flash a radio or just delete the files and copy over again. I'm not exactly sure what the issue is, but I have never experienced this with my phone and the more than 10 android builds I have tried.

@evollyn The stock radio doesn't seem to work well with with some Android builds. Stock raido is 2.08 higer radios like 2.10 or 2.12 work better with android builds.

@TheMeinlow do you see the file that you downloaded in your downloads on your computer?

@berenbzh Ok, so what have you done so far? Have you donwloaded winRaR and the file for the Android Build? All you have to do is create a folder on you rhome screen. When you go under downloads in your computer if you downloaded winRaR the files should have a winRaR logo next to them (looks like a stack of folders/books). Then just right the file and select extract files... to the folder you created.

@roberthearsawho you have to extract the file you just downloaded WinRaR allows you to extract the files you need to put on your phone.

@kiloah92 the tiny writing is haret booting, the first boot can take up to 6 minutes. Also try and run android within 30 seconds of turning your phone on. So take out your battery right after the phone is fully booted up try and run android again.

@randyorr523 Do you still use your stock windows mobile 6.5 or do you have a cooked ROM?

@Anoon Yeah, I've done that, and on my phone it says "The file CLRCAD cannot be oppened" Same for Haret. I've downloaded two builds, and formatted my SD and same problem happens.

@ChargerANG I would just say erase and download again, delete files like (android secure) delete all empty folders. And copy over the folder again. Other than that I really don't know what the issue is. Is you sd card the 16 GB card that came with the phone or a lower GB card?

@450904...you want to search for the APN settings for TMOBILE USA, input them on your phone under settings. I can't recall the exact path, but I believe it's under mobile settings

@E36SoCal I would suggest, download WinRaR first to your computer, google it. The file that contains Android is zipped WinRaR allows you to extract it. It shouldn't be a problem after that.

@ChargerANG Ok, you can only have one "Android" folder/Build on your SD card at a time. Otherwise it won't boot. You said you downloaded 2 builds.

@lane781 The newest build from Darkstone is the verison 2 which should be what the download is.
