Chevy/GMC truck owners installing A1 CARDONE Transfer Case motor #48-113 check out this video for a helpful tip to ensure your install goes smoothly.

Tips:
**Note that the transfer case ground wire for some of these vehicles are mounted to the frame rail, just in back of the driver side front wheel well.
***This location promotes corrosion and could be the cause of intermittent operation of the transfer case motor.
**We recommend inspection of the ground wires, bolts, and the frame surface

Hey Guys, so I live in Calgary this said, our winters get frigidly cold -20C 4wd service comes on/fuse blows/lights on selector switch goes out. Nothing works...found a write up - not sure if its from GM directly. But it states, if your 20amp ATC fuse keeps blowing, but Encoder @ T-case diff actuator works. You're getting get voltage at connectors....( Bench test front actuator ) and it there is no code for TCCM ( Transfer Case Control Module ) ....it is the 1640 connection - they used 18 gauge wire from factory but during colder than normal ambient temps - it will spike in amps and blow the fuse....The easy fix is replace with 25amp fuse. OR replace the Orange wire - with 16Awg. DONT GO SPLURGE ON PARTS BEFORE YOU DO ALL YOUR CHECKS!!!!

Ive have just cleaned these grounds on my 03 gmc sierra 1500 .... now my t case delays shifting. Ill press the 4x4 button more then a couple times until it finally shifts then the same going back into 2wd before it would shift almost immediately but when driving into mud it would give me the service 4wd indication The truck is high km's sitting around 364000 im sure the encoder is original .... checked fuses all are fine ... not burnt or browned in anyway.... wiring loom under the truck is in good shape no splices or breaks

My 07 sierra on has the single ground wire on the right. Anyone know where the other ground might be?

That might be a tricky diagnosis without inside information like you've provided. I probably wouldn't find it without a voltage drop test.

So my light for service 4x4 comes on while in 2 wheel high. Dealer says its the tc motor, but I think this ground. If transfer case motor was the culprit, problem should arise when trying to put in 4x4, not just while cruising around in 2wd. Thoughts?

I' replaced my ground wires with bigger ones and connector ends.. I don't know about y'all but I don't like doing things like this More than once..
And food for thought if you're going to replacing ground wires wouldn't hurt to make the wire bigger..

Pretty much a bone-headed design. I hope the design engineer caught hell for this. I chased this problem in my 2004 suburban 2500 for quite some time. Can't think of a worse place to run wires and bolt grounds.

If I start 4hi and turn the steering wheel to the end, the car stops and does not move as if something stopped the car.
