In this video I'm taking a look at how the mighty Robben Ford 🐐 uses the diminished scale in the humble 12 bar blues for some cool outside sounds. He's an absolute genius when it comes to phrasing and note choice, and has a seemingly endless reservoir of ideas. I've broken down a few of his diminished concepts, as well as how he thinks about the harmony and chords to help you navigate the jazzier side of the blues. (Gear used in video down below)

Stevie old boy u took me down memory lane for I bought the book "Blues & beyond" when it first came out! & seems to me we got similar taste for Albert King, Albert Collins, SRV and BB (just to name a few) r my Gods but to me Robben has that extra kinda edge that inspires me big time - I mean Rugged Road is freaking INSANE!!!! & Robben kept on evolving and polishing his style - to me he's a genius!!!
