This video is about the Second Sino-Japanese War from July 1937 to September 1945.

The Second Sino-Japanese War, which lasted from 1937 to 1945, was a major conflict between China and Japan that preceded and then became part of World War II. Sparked by the Marco Polo Bridge Incident in 1937, Japan launched a full-scale invasion of China, capturing major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Nanjing, the latter of which witnessed the notorious Nanjing Massacre. The war saw large-scale atrocities and civilian casualties. Despite facing internal divisions and receiving limited external assistance, Chinese resistance persisted throughout the war. The conflict merged into the broader theatre of World War II following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. It concluded in 1945 with the defeat of Japan, leading to China emerging as one of the victors and a founding member of the United Nations.

Makes me wonder if Sun Yat Sen was actually good for China. Because the majority of this war wouldn’t have happened without him.

- Japan used their contribution of helping Sun financially during the Xinhai revolution as an excuse for the invasion. Something like “China owed me so China has to pay our debts”.
- Chiang Kai Shek and Mao Zedong were at war at each other (or to be more specific, Taiwan v China) because they interpreted Sun’s “three principle of the people” differently.
