Little Sweetness After Thanksgiving Dinner
📕Recipe here:
❂ Ingredients:
For the Filling:
5 Pears
100g. Sugar
80g. Butter
1 Tsp Lemon juice
For the Crust:
250g. Flour
120g. Butter
Pinch of Salt
1 Egg
❂ Dough prep process:
Place flour, butter and salt in a food processor and blend then add egg and beat until it is smooth. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate while you make the pears.
(You can also use store-bought puff pastry)
❂ Cooking process:
- Peel and cut the pears in half lengthwise.
- Take out the core and remove the tails.
- TIP: When you peel and cut the pears, place them in a bowl and drizzle with lemon juice to keep them from browning.
- In a large saucepan over medium heatSprinkle some sugar and a teaspoon of lemon juice and then gradually add sugar to the pan after the first portion starts to melt.
- As soon as the sugar has turned into a liquid, mix and add the butter, stirring constantly, until the color is creamy light brown.
- Pour the hot caramel into a baking dish and place the pears on it.
- Roll out the dough into a circle slightly larger than the diameter of the baking dish. Cover the pears with dough by pressing on the edges, and fill the dough into the rim of the form.
- Poke a few holes with a fork.
- Oven 350F / 180C 30-35 minutes.
- Cover the baked Tarte Tatin with a plate and turn it over.
- Add a scoop of ice cream and enjoy!
