I literally just told my friend today that I feel like my depression is creeping back in again. And it does happen occasionally, it just really sucks. Especially today, when I realized how extremely unproductive I have been and how very unhappy I am with everything the past 2-3 weeks or so. I know it's just a bump I hit right now, but I have been working to make sure I never slip into the depression I was in when I was younger. Thanks for your great video :) I hope you and everyone else can overcome your negative thoughts as well

For people with depression, going to the doctor is probably the best thing you can do. I know because I did that over the summer. I'm still struggling with depression but I'm also recovering.

I sometimes have exactly the same "gray"/"foggy" feeling you described. And I also sleep really, really long, when I'm feeling sad. Although when everything is actually fine, or there are just some not really dramatic problems going on I feel like this. But It's not that often, and in the time betweet I'm really happy and thankful to be on this awesome world, so I don't think I really got depression. And I don't want to speak with someone about it, because I'm scared of not beeing taken seriously. I mean, how should anybody believe me, when even I am not really sure if I've got a real problem or not...

I get sad/depressed over the things that I missed out on as a child. It's been extra hard lately

I share so much more of my feelings on the internet(especially your channel), than with my friends and family, because in my friend groups, I'm always told "You're always so strong. We can always count on you. So wise. You're always there for us. You have such a good vibe about you. Such a solid guy, etc" ... .... all the while I'm standing there, suppressing a 18-years-and-counting emptiness and inside I just feel... well I don't really know what I feel.
I just always seem to help people and I don't know why... I don't particularly care, or feel good about it, I just help because I can... It's hard when you're seen as this great guy, because people project what they think you to be, even though you don't feel that way about yourself, because even some of your kindest actions tends to be laced with a coin toss of apathy vs empathy ... Anyway... Thanks for a great channel and a platform to speak freely

I've been having that "grey feeling" more often than not for the past few years but I don't know what to do I'm only 15 and when I tell people about it they don't care/don't listen!

My friend is depressed and she won't let me help her. So my question is how do you get rid of depression on your own?

*copied a comment I sent to someone* xD Yah! Im that cheap :p

To be honest I'm a very happy guy. Life just seems chilled and really laid back. My college grades are fine (B/A gradz), I have friends (more than I'd like), awesome at video games etc (Dont worry I have a reason for bragging).

Here is what I do:
1. Limit the people you call friends with only those that make you happy. If they tease/ make you more sad than happy then they're not worth keeping. Also 'grayness/ in the blues' syndrome from negative people; is contagious! Avoid other depressed/ angry people.

2. Watch things that entertain you/ make you happy. Whatever it is-watch it! Whilst eating something. I'd advise watching something funny. And stick to it for a while.

3. Get college/ other forms of school work out the way. Do it to a good level so you have more time to play Mario kart 8! :D

4. Sleep on time i.e. 8:00pm go to bed! Regardless of whether you're a teen or not.

5. Shopping...hmmm there must be a more manlier way of putting than. "Bro hunting!" no sounds gay... "Stuff hunting!" Yes! Thats it. Shopping make you very happy. Try it, buy something you find very useful or cool and it will lift your spirit-its sort of like getting a present! :D

6. Get away from stressful situations. Or as least 'ASAP'.

Quick boost happiness:
1. Bit weird but it works; hold a pencil in between your teeth for a while. It tricks your brain into believing its smiling and when you smile you become happier. I was advise this a few months back and omg! It works.

2. Change your view on things when bad/ unlucky things happen. I.e. missed the bus? Think "weeeell, it could have been worse" :D

3. Try colourful video games and 'play with other people online' e.g. Mario kart 8 >:D It works for me! (you can ignore this one)

Hi kaitlyn, thanks for your another great video. *smile
I recommend a book called "Awaken the Giant Within" by Anthony Robbins. This book is amazing and powerful to change perspective of depression. I have learnt how to control mind a little bit to be happier. Haha. Check it out. Hope it helps all of those is being depressed.
