This past February, before the craziness of coronavirus, I bought the local feed stores entire shipment of 75 laying hen chicks, barred and white rocks, and red sex link. The chicks were a week old and the store hadn’t sold one, so I bought them all at 2.50 each, just to give them room for the next shipment, they even gave me 2 bags of feed free...Once the pandemic and ensuing lockdown hit, you couldn’t find a chicken in any feed store anywhere, they would sell out in minutes, lines of people wrapped around the store like it was Black Friday.... I just finished selling the last of what I want to sell, I made well over $1000 off those chickens in the last 3 weeks, $20 for a month old pullet, there is no price gouging on chickens, purely supply and demand!

Love this. A big time breeder in the area is retiring and I'm buying some of his quail and would like to grow it into a business.

Hey Buddy, Glad you made another video.I had a thought about the light bulbs, I got a couple of those old brooder bars that came out of an old old brooder.I mean like over 30 years, Been bouncing around in one of the old sheds around here.I took one apart and they are nothing but a spring wire inside a metal cover .So I thought They might be better than the light bulb route..

Your interacting with quail enough to make accurate observations, why do you feel they no longer get broody?

I sell males and culls to fellow raw feeders and my own dogs eat them as well. I sell out everytime I have any available.
