Former Chancellor of Austria Wolfgang Schüssel: Deglobalization is not possible

The 2023 Understanding China Conference (Guangzhou) was held in China's Guangdong Province on December 2, 2023. The three-day conference, bringing together over 70 international guests from more than 30 countries and regions, shed light on how countries should cooperate in the face of unprecedented changes across the world. Wolfgang Schüssel, former Chancellor of Austria, said during the opening ceremony, “America first? China first? Europe first? Russia first? No! We are living on one planet. We are living in the same time and we are interlinked.” He pointed out that the real figures of trade prove that deglobalization is nonsense. Our economy is interlinked. We have supply chains and we have to look for them.
