SJ1000 action camera underwater test

This is a snorkeling video taken with the SJ1000 action cam for underwater performance purposes.
1080p 30fps mode was used, no water was present inside the waterproof casing after the shooting.
Feel free to ask any questions, some more test videos will be follow.

after a "actioncam" which was only rated for 20m. this camera works well at least up to 28 meters without leakage.
just make sure to place the seal correctly and ad some silicone grease on both sides of the seal. All underwater cameras need silicone grease on the seals for optimal protection against leaks.

I used the original sealed box. Just make sure that the rubber flange is correctly placed. I used the OK button just once underwater (to start recording). This part of the video is actually taken by a friend of mine, but it's not very deep as you can see.

It starts recording automatically only when it's plugged in. The automatic recording is for car cam use.

I just bought sj1000 and I tested the it in pool around 2.4m depth without press any button, but the water got into the housing. The water seems to leak into the hosuing from the poor button seal.

I was holding it with my hand while snorkeling. I supose you can also use the velcro straps and mount it on your arm

Looks pretty nice actually. Just wished you had more than just sea floor to record, lol. And the sound, not bad. Not bad indeed.

First, you need a chill pill...
Secondly, for the battery, just give it a full charge for about 8 hours and it'll be fine.
Thirdly, you CAN change the auto recording. Its not a bug, its a feature called the motion detector. It auto records for 10 secs and then resumes recording when it senses motion. Don't want it? Turn it off.
Lastly, what were you expecting from a camera that's 1/4 the price of a gopro? If you could get a gopro in the first place, why didnt you?

That's a function to enable you to use it as a dashcam.

Hi, how do you mount the camera using the accessories included? And where do you attach it?

You can see that the video is underwater .... yes, it has a waterproof casing. I'v e trying to make a kitesurfing video but I find it very hard to make a mount for th kite. The camera is good but the mounts are almost useless ...
