Vildhjarta - Måsstadens Nationalsång (Under Vatten) (Guitar Cover)

Playing a Blackmachine B6 inspired custom 7-string (27") built by a Finnish luthier Juho Manninen.

Modified 5150 rig to suit the ash/maple combination, works quite well on playthroughs but still pretty harsh and unforgiving on its own. Also made a simple footswitch with my brother to change the rig (-1 & -2) for the outro. Using BKP Aftermath pickups and D'addario NYXL (11-64) strings. Dual tracked with Kemper (XLR) and MOTU 8pre. 100% pan (L-R) and added ~22hz low cut in FL Studio. A lot of obvious edits concerning additional noises for overall clarity.

Tuning is all fourths with drop C: C G C F A# D# G# + 6th string tuned down to E at 01:10

I cant understand the fact you aren't wringing your neck headbanging while absolutely slaughtering this monolithic song. 500/10

I’m always amazed how low you can go with such light strings. Amazing playing, amazing tone, amazing everything.

I've been a big 'hjarta fan since the early demos and regardless of how many times I listen to this song, every single time I hear 0:30 - 0:57 I can't help but smile and tear up a bit. Especially at the new part at 0:48 and the small rest after the open low string note. It gives me such a beautiful feeling. It's like I'm looking back at the baby photos of Traces and seeing how it's grown up to now and feeling pride and love for it. It holds so much nostalgia and reminds me of how beautiful it is to be alive.

That manual tune half way through just blew my mind. Absolutely incredible. Your playing is a pleasure to watch. Keep it up.

I've never seen another guitarist than myself that upstrokes the low string to eliminate pitch drift. Amazing cover

How can anyone even create a riff this nasty and put them as a compilation for a whole song? It's so crazy

I frequent these Vildhjarta covers almost daily. They’re shot so well. The lighting from above to accentuate the string movement is 👌👌
What is find most impressive is your style. The way you utilize economy of motion in these riffs is quite captivating. Excellent job 👏👏👏

That's it, you win. I've been looking for covers of this song ever since the album came out and while others have come close, yours is abso-fucking-lutely flawless. My hats off to you, impeccable playing.

Oh my god dude I'm amazed you went that low on a 64.
This was sick; mix was great.
It takes some degree of black magic to accurately cover any Vildjharta material; lol.
