The idea that the Mexica people originated in any area of present day US is complete nonsense. The location the Mexica (and other Nahua) people actually migrated was 100 - 150 miles northeast of the Valley of Mexico, most likely in modern day Guanajuanto.

As always, dropping knowledge 💯 I agree with your final take, folks need to be clear on what they are referring too when talking about Aztlan - origin story (which is true) or Aztlan as a political movement (which can benefit a grassroots collective BUT requires folks to be conscious of indigenous erasure when practicing)

Also in regard to Aztlan it is my opinion that it is a mythical land by the way it was described however I do believe in my opinion that the mexica people did come from the northern part of the United States I believe we have more connection with the Hopi people and I believe that is the area where Aztlan or the fable Aztlan is located, of course no one knows the truth, no one knows exactly where, but that is just my opinion

I think part of this has to do to how you identify yourself if you identify yourself as native I don't think it really matters what part of the American continent you come from this is your land whether you're in South Central or North America whether you were born in South Central or North America if you identify as native you have native roots you do have claimed to any of this land just like Europeans have claimed to Europe Africans have claimed to African just because you might be from a different tribe or you are not a member of a tribe doesn't mean you're not native it is also important to note that it is dangerous to say that other races they claim to this land they might be Americans if they're born in the United States or Canadians if they're born in Canada or whatever part but their ancestral Roots aren't of this continent aren't of this land that does not mean that we are disparaging them in any way shape or form we are just stating the truth they are welcomed in our land black people Asian people white people however they're do not have a claim to this land this land belongs to Native no matter where you are from
