Today I dive into English band Inspiral Carpets. "Dragging Me Down" is the lead single from their third studio album REVENGE OF THE GOLDFISH released in October 1992. The album peaked at No.17 on the UK Albums Chart.

It was a really great variation of UK music is not even a huge population, but to me we have the greatest artists... crap politicians and politics though but maybe that's why

Great that folks stateside are (re)discovering Inspiral Carpets (Cool As...!) and other Madchester bands. I grew up listening to this stuff while everyone else was into Grunge. Not as musical as The Stone Roses, not as dance/rave as the Mondays, not as versatile as the Charlatans, but I always felt the Inspirals had a bit more substance. "Sackville, " "Two Worlds Collide, " "Commercial Reign, " "This is How it Feels" of course, even "Uniform" were a bit darker and are great.

I totally dug that! I kept thinking I was looking at Peter Tork (Monkees) on the organ! 😂 You’re dragging me down, man! How catchy is that?
