2016 retake! This is a very large complex of 1970's medical buildings on the University of MN Campus. They used to have a ton of neat older Westinghouse elevators that have slowly been modernized out of existence. This is the last bank remaining in the low-rise section of one of the buildings. They are Select-O-Matics, installed in 1973. They are just starting the mod of these, so soon they will be no more. Not only are they lots of fun to ride, the floor indicator is still unlike anything I've seen elsewhere and is similar to what the other elevators used to look like in this complex.

Just went in here today... Well these lasted 9 more years than they were supposed to, but they are being modded now.

I'm amazed they lasted this long. I swear every elevator on the Duluth campus has been modded; some twice!!

Modernization has begun on these. The two on the east side of the lobby are already down. The three on the west side are still in operation as of right now - one is reserved solely for construction traffic. I saw a couple Hollister Whitney AC gearless machines awaiting installation. They are rated for 500 fpm.
Over the last few months, the VFW building that was next door to the east has been completely demolished to make way for a new facility.

These are somehow still not touched. I hope these are here to stay for a while.

Wow! 9 floors. I heard that they modernized the elevators there at the PWB from the University of Minnesota.
