Baltimore City Council Hearing, April 22, 2015

was a significant hearing.

We thank Councilman Carl Stokes, as chair of the Baltimore City Council's Recreation and Parks Committee, for holding it.  

At approximately 36-38 minutes the viewer will hear Director Ernest Burkeen of the Department of Recreation and Parks, commit to a timeline to develop a city-wide open space and parks plan. Director Burkeen has experience in initiating and completing a somewhat similar plan when he served the City of Miami. 

This is an important milestone for a city that has not for many years done this type of comprehensive planning. It presents an opportunity for Baltimore citizens to envision and create a road map for new parks and civic spaces as the city redevelops in this century.
