It might have been low poly, but it was enough poly.

Thanks for the upload. I remember listening to tracks like this when visiting California as a child. Being a lower middle class kid from Colorado hanging out in my rich uncles beautiful house in the palisades. I remember my parents would go to bed, I would get up and sneak out of my room to sit on the balcony and look at the city lights with the little radio on the table and late at night I found a station that played these kind of drum and bass mixes. I remember just feeling so free looking at the palm trees and the lights listening to what at the time was very "new" style of music in the early 90s. I remember just looking out at the city that was so alive and all the people going about, even after midnight. warm summer breeze, smelling all the blossoms and exotic plants I never got to experience in dry Colorado. I miss those days, these tracks bring me back to a simpler time. RIP Uncle George and Aunt Peggy.

Dude, I remember playing this with my older brother. He always said that I should upgrade my racer to be faster in the races, but I never wanted to because it would get too fast for me to steer properly and not crash into all of the walls. Good times...

Thanks for all the work you put into your mixes!

25 years later, Ep.1 Racer is still the best sci-fi racing game of all time.

Pads, breaks and 90s video games is what’s required to create a rudimentary time machine.

This ambient dnb music always gives me this feeling of being forgotten. Like an old ps1 disc left to collect dust. Strange type of nostalgic comfort. Almost exclusively listen to this when high, it's best when high.

I have a really unique association with this mix now.

At the end of last year, I was desperate to fulfil a childhood gaming dream of defeating the Lich King in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King classic. I hit max level as fast as I could on my dwarf Paladin and set about gearing up for raids through endless daily dungeons and weekly raids to get my gear level up. Eventually, I had enough gear for pubs and through that I joined a guild. Once we started weekly raids of Icecrown Citadel, I also had alts that were gearing up. By January 2024 I was raiding Icecrown 6 times per week, sometimes back to back on alts. Some of them were terrible, the pubbie groups would disband over small arguments or, once, the raid leader with all the gear went AFK for 30 minutes without warning and people left. However, with the guild, we were regularly reaching the final boss, Arthas, every Monday night. After a few wipes, we had learned the fight. The following night, we came back and after 3 attempts, we downed the Lich King. My childhood dream was fulfilled.
Every time we started to clear trash in Icecrown, I would play this mix in the background at a low volume. It never reaches a volume that would interfere with communications or alerts for the raids so it was perfect. As you do when you do anything by repetition, you get used to the pattern. So when I hear this mix now, I can remember when we'd start the first encounter with Lord Marrowgar, be jumping between the airships in Gun Battle, or going mad on DPS at Saurfang.

I had to stop playing WoW classic as I am now preparing to move into a new home and start a family and my marriage couldn't survive 7 nights a week, sat in front of the PC, running ICC for tier pieces and rolling on drops. I miss my guild members, they were all so friendly and funny. I should check in with them...

Thanks for the mix. I don't expect anyone to read this but it will be fun for me to re-read this in future when I rediscover the mix over and over again.
