Hack n Slash

Hack n' Slash is an action adventure game focused on exploration and discovery, not just of its charming fantasy world, but also its internal workings. Based on my childhood experiences hacking on games in emulators to discover new things (and break others), Hack 'n' Slash is a world of puzzle dungeons based on progressively more sophisticated cheating, hacking, and reverse engineering techniques. Instead of a sword, you get a laptop, searching for and building software to help you dismantle and rebuild the world around you.

Concept-wise seems to be the most unique, intriguing and engaging. I'll just trust that you're able to execute since the idea sounds worth the risk entirely.

I hope it takes a few lessons from roguelikes, particularly the Binding of Isaac. Would love to see Doublefine's take on that genre; it seems like a great place to utilise their brand of humor, much more than a large sprawling world where everything just melds into the landscape.

the prototype is actually very fun=] It's kinda cool plugging into baddies and making their health reach 0 or make their attacks heal you. Its cool=]

Well, a simple scenario that I could imagine is you fire up a RAM modification program, find the bytes storing your health, and "heal" yourself. At least that's what I loved doing in NES games like Metroid and Mega Man =)

I'm not clever enough to do this, but the title (while already clever) would be so much cooler if it actually includes a slash / and looked like a programming command or script. Like "HACK(n/)" or something :)

Hm, this is like the very basic of the basic in terms of "hacking" (it's the way most hacks like "Game Genie" work), so I'm pretty sure they'll have thought about it already^^
