For my foreign friends who love and appreciate Greek natural monuments of nature, here is the description of my video in English (while the description in the video is Greek).
So, the place is about the natural springs of "Saint Barbarian" Trifos. A wonder of Greek naturein the regional unit of Aetoliacarnania, about 50km from the city of Agrinio. The story of the "Saint Barbarian"is about a local Saint of the Acarnanian region and he was from Pentapolis of Libya. He was a pirate in the 9th century (A.C) who took part in raids with Arabians in Crete, Sicily and Nicopoly. One day he was near a church of Saint George (at Voustri) while the priest there was having a holy service, then, it was said that, the "Barbarian" had a crisisthat made him converse his way of life and asked the priest for regretion for his crimes. The priest then baptist him and from a barbarian he lived as a monk and eremite in the wild, sleeping and living in caves for 3 years. Unfortunately he was killed by mistake from hunters, who came from Nicopolis to hunt in the region, while the "Barbarian" was hiding in the bushes, he was taken for a wildanimal.
The priest then buried him where his church - temple is now built, celebrating every year on the 23rd of June and is known as the "Saint Barbarian" as nobody knew his real name. Near there is the naturalmedical water spring of Trifo. Also it is said that far back, in the chancel (of his church) used to gush out a water spring, the church was abandoned in the 19th century.
There are natural medical water sources at "Saint Barbarian" which are physical ponds in the river Alevra with hydrosulphide sources, which pour on the right hand of the river. The river begins from th mountains of Acarnania crossing the region of Nissa, which pass by the medical spa of Trifo and ends in the Amvrakiko gulf at Loutraki (of Aetoliacarnania).
