Well, NFL free agency was fun this year.

Aside from the likes of Nick Foles and Le’Veon Bell, free agency in 2019 was dominated by the defensive players. A bunch of Pro Bowl safeties and defensive linemen hit the open market; big-named players were surprisingly released and wound up finding new homes.

We think we know how some of the biggest signings will play out. Sometimes, it doesn’t take a genius to put the dots together and see which free agents are bound to succeed with their new teams -- and which ones are going to just be giant wastes of money.

“Based on history”. Trent Brown was one of the best pass blockers in the NFL consistently in 2016 and 2017 with the 49ers. The only thing he improved upon in New England was run blocking. Is he overpaid? Yes. Was he only good in New England? Absolutely not.

Got to disagree on Beasley. No one expects him to be the #1 receiver in Buffalo with John Brown also signed and Zay Jones poised to take a big step forward. And the Bills got positive grades (outside of TPS apparently) for the work done on the o-line this off-season.

As a Ravens fan I must say it was not at all a surprise that Weddle got cut. He's still an awesome human being and a true on-the-field coach and field general - but the past 1-2 seasons he just lost too many steps. He simply ceased getting there on time too many times. I'm extremely happy and thankful he was a Raven for 3 seasons, and I do think is one of the very best free agent pickups of Ravens history - but it was time to move on. He became too much of a liability.
