Sounds like Windows Explorer has been substantially rewritten and there are ... a lot of bugs. The only reason I can think of for such a substantial rewrite is the desire to include substantial new features. New features like 'recall'.

MS cares more about forcing their unwanted AI features on their users than producing a stable and robust operating system.

Makes me glad (to a degree) that I decided to hold off updating for a while. I did come across a video on another channel that talks about how you can change the registry to stay with your current version and keep it from automatically updating to 24H2. So, I'm definitely considering doing that.

Knowing this I am happy that I am not seeing this update. 😊

Deferring feature updates 180 days through active directory group policy was the smartest thing since disabling snapshots for Recall last month. My org is not beta testing.

I wouldn'y be surprised if Microsoft uses certain versions of Windows like Home as a teeting ground before releasing to Enterprise;

Looks like Microsoft has hit a speed bump with the Windows 11 24H2 update, which is now paused for more PCs due to issues. Given my specs—Intel64 Family 6 Model 190 Stepping 0, 16GB RAM, and running Windows 11 Home 23G2—I'm playing it safe and waiting for the max allowed time between updates to prevent issues. Anyone else in the same boat? Here's hoping the bugs get squashed soon! 🪲🔧 #Windows11 #TechWoes #UpdateTroubles #BrenTech

They increased the HMB allocation from 64MB to 200MB to improve performance, but it ended up crashing the system. It's mind-blowing that Microsoft didn't test this before the release 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I find it hilarious that my custom built PC got the update, but my laptop, MS's own (poor) hardware, has not!

I'll never update to a new firmware early ever again, the fact they enable recall without permission and the ''Visual bug'' of memory cash not deleting is quite alarming I'm seriously thinking about going back to 23h2 or starting to think about going to Linux for good.

The update isn't offered when you have particular driver versions of Intel sound system, you'd need to update the drivers first for now. They haven't stopped the rollout, just paused it for those machine. I had the Intel driver assistant installed so my drivers were always up-to-date.

Dam it. Just did a fresh install a week ago
with windows 11 only and now there are issues. With these bugs in place the pc is still running well without any blue screens.

I had to re-install because of BSODs with 24H2 on a WD Black SN770. I switched to a WD Black SN850X and now everything is working.
I have now updated the firmware for both, so can't say if that would've fixed the problem with the SN770.
Just glad there's nothing wrong with the SSD itself.

I'm running 23H2 on my system and have not been offered the 24H2 update as of now.

Be very thankful if you have not updated or have no availability to update. And for sure there's far more than 6 known issues, I don't understand why there is always constantly issues every single time MS Windows announces or brings forward their latest release. Personally and for so many years now I never ever immediately update any Windows updates regardless of size or pay any attention to the forever background chatting about these endless updates. I play the waiting game, and then install updates, sometimes many months later.

I find it incompetent shipping 24H4 as the default version of Windows when searching for the official ISO.

The version's full of bugs. I've tested 24H4 from the Insider's Preview before the public slow release. It was way more stable back then.

When you select that you want the latest updates you are basically saying yes to become a beta tester, thats why I have that setting turned off.
