My favorites are the little kids who instantly start telling their parents about all of the things they’ve missed. Like the girl telling her dad that her princess dress came with the gloves. It’s just so pure

I remember my own father coming home from deployment from some of the most dangerous places on Earth after a year each time. I was always so glad just to see his face in person one more time. It's hard, but he always came home. Not all of them do and we need to remember them too.

I'm not military, but, when I come home from work and my daughter runs to me for a hug, it's the best joy of my life. Yet, I can't imagine how these men and women and children feel being reunited with their loved ones after long periods of time. Thank you for your service.
