New firmware parrot bebop 4.2.0. BEWARE!!!!

First flight after new firmware release on 7/11/17 . Could not connect to drones wifi, had to set wifi up manually to get it to connect , then no GPS connection due to drone not accepting compass calibration. After 2 hours of trouble shooting finally got her up and running. It was worth doing but not for the faint of heart......

Please note that on any firmware update, you really should perform a "reset", and there are instructions online and youtube to do that. After a reset, you will have to do all calibration over again as well. In addition, its recommended to uninstall and reinstall the app on your mobile device for controlling it. The main reason is that you're starting fresh this way, so there isn't any old errant data from a previous firmware mucking things up. Then, before every flight remember to just do the quick and easy level calibration (which is lost with every battery removal) and you should be problem free.

Annoying? Sure, but firmware updates aren't that often, and its worth the peace of mind that you're not going to have a weird crash or fly away.

Your video quality is amazing and i couldn't fine tune the video quality. My only negative point of BB2 is the video quality.

Hi Kingsbury, can you please describe us what exactly did you do in those two hours and managed to solve the calibration issue? I myself rolled back to 4.0.6 but I would surely love to have that nice tilt with the camera.

I just purchased my drone today and had a blast the first 2 hours or so. Charged it and went back to try the FPV goggles, after updating to 4.2.0 ive crashed twisce because it drifts so bad. Any advice?

i have also updated to this and so far i have had no problems ? maybe just lucky or are the problems on there way lol . only have 2 videos so far, one with the old firmware and latest one is after updating. thanks for sharing ☺

Want to update my bebop 2 with the newer firmware but I'm worried about battery life. What kind of flight time are you getting with the upgrade ?
