As somone who found themselves trapped on the nether roof in bedrock, it is indeed possible to escape.... just as long as you pack chorus fruits

Just a friendly reminder that on bedrock edition you can just log out and back in and it will put you under the roof. I just recommend bring a fire resistance potion since you can spawn in lava.

I scrolled the comments and didn’t find anyone who knew this, but apparently in bedrock edition, if you go to the nether roof, you can’t go back down through making a portal or going back the way you came. However, if you leave the world, then rejoin, the game doesn’t allow you to load in on the roof, so it forces you to open land that’s below you. The only downside is that if that open land is in lava, it’s an inevitable death without fire res. I don’t actually know why this happens, but my guess is that the game doesn’t let you spawn above height limit.
