College - Teenage Color / Behringer Pro-1 / Roland JU-06A/JX03 / Korg Electribe 2 / Korg Volca Beats

I made a rework of the music who bring me to eletronic music, "Teenage Color" from "College", on the label "Valerie and Friends".
First time I heard it in 2009, I was already loving the 80's, mostly because of the movie "The Never Ending Story", it was incredible to hear a music from the present but made with the spirit of the 80's (no one was talking about "synthwave" but this was maybe one of the very first synthwave music made). For me, this music was what I needed, a big nostalgia, dreamy, and escaping sound, made with simplicity and minimalisme, but so powerfull in it's structure and sounds. First time you listen to it, it looks already familiar, like an old memories. The same year I discovered this song (2009), I went to a music store and said "how to do electronic music", a guy sold me a KORG electribe esx1... It's a really good gear, and today I love it, but this wasn't really what I expect !
Now I have the gear I need for be closer to the original music ! (Lot of incredible artists come from the label "Valerie and Friends", like "Anoraak" (Nightdrive with you!!), "Futurecop!" (Nasa!!), "Steve Moore" (Saturnalia!!)

The video had some issues (because of my use of the camera) but I keep it, it was really hard to remember everything for this, even the solo part at the end was terrifying !
After 2 min 30 in the video, I started to play a music that I have compose like a reference to "Teenage Color".

My setup :
Korg electribe 2 is sending all the sequence to synth :
Pad 1 is Roland JX-03
Pad 2 is Behringer Pro 1
Pad 3 is Roland JU-06A
Pad 9 is the kick only from Volca Beats, the other sounds are trigger by a internal sequence.
Pad 10 is a snare from the electribe
Pad 11 is a hihat from the electribe
Pad 12 is a single note from the electribe
At 2 min 08, I change my pattern on the electribe, more pads are use and comes from internal sounds of the Korg electribe.
Pad 4 is a lead voice (like Korg M1 fm style) who replace the same notes than before on the pad 3 (Roland JU-06A)
Pad 6 and 14 are the Bass sound previously play by the Behringer Pro 1 on pad 2.
Pad 7 is a voice sound too, who replace the notes played by JX-03.
Pad 13 is a ride cymbals from electribe 2.

Very nice and smooth song that could be directly from „Stranger Things“! ;-)
I didn‘t know that you can do such nice things with the Korg Electribe 2 like sequencing the other equipment. The Behringer sounds so cool... I have to get one too!

Love it! Great work. Is it the jx or the ju06a playing the chord stabs after the switch up? I'm assuming the jx because it becomes more prominent after you raise the lpf. It sounds soo good

That's very cool, but you may can do something for the shaking camera

Very cool jam, one bit of criticism : The snare sounds quite lost /weak in the mix not sure if its the sample or just the balance with everything else but bring it more up front and add some reverb and it will be perfect :)

Je dirais qu’il ne te manque là qu’un sampler pour pouvoir aborder n’importe quel style, par exemples un black box de chez 1010.
En tous cas c’est superbe. Ça réchauffe ton truc
