i was rewatching old videos of yours as I often do at night to relax, when a comment you made about the stories that come with opal reminded me of our family story.  my father, a bit of a lad, was driving too fast in lightning ridge nearly 60 years ago when he hit a rock and spun his car crashing it into a wooden fence pole. He panicked as his girlfriend at the time had said if he did not settle down she would say no if he proposed. In frustration he kicked the offending rock, and saw a flash of green on a bit that broke off. taking the rock with him he walked to town where the local mechanic agreed to look at his car. it was cactus. Insurance agreed to pay him $200 so he could fix or replace his car. later in the month his father took him back to lightning ridge to bring his car back on the farm truck. when there he remember the bit of the rock and took it to a local who cut and set opals to see if it was worth anything. On cutting the jewler saw a perfect "L" in the middle of the stone. His girlfriends name started with "L" . he spent almost all the $200 on getting the stone finished and set into a ring, which he used to propose to my mother. I am their only daughter, and my name starts with "L",   My firstborns daughters name also starts with "L".  Opal is magical.

You could never be boring...seriously? I'm soooo excited to get to watch you do some opal for us! TY tytytyty! Sry you didn't get to do your trip. My husband was so excited that he was watching a show that they were filming from Lightening Ridge since he knows I watch your show all the time. He's a funny bird that he won't watch shows that I suggest for him. He watches tv, I watch either my tablet channels or youtube sitting up here at the puter.
