man, Sega really fumbled PSO2 by ditching the base game to work on NG especially after making the game global and getting so many people into the base game only to throw it all away for a watered down version months later smh

I can't say.... Maybe I'm an "uncle of PSO2 Base", but this NG version of Masquerade didn't seem too difficult to me. Because when I faced it for the first time, in PSO2 Base I spent I think 2 months trying, even with the best equipment I had at the time! Maybe in NG after Level 20, it can bring some challenge.

But I still prefer the PSO2 Base setting, because it looks like a graveyard there and the environment matches the boss

It's like the team doesn't even understand why people liked this type of content in the first place. They don't know what to add to NGS and why it's not working, so they just throw something in that *looks* like content people used to like without understanding its place in the gameplay loop.

Glad to see this channel is still going strong years later. I watched a lot when NGS first launched for the first year and half. I haven’t played since Stia released. Is there any chance you would ever look at doing a refresher update video for returning players? Or do you already have something along those lines? Like augments look wild now, before everyone was just worrying about dread keeper lvl 4’s etc. I used to get into the leaderboards every week too for the special challenges on server 3 so mechanics weren’t an issue but knowing where the meta is at is overwhelming with all these changes and catching up I need to do.

I cleared all 40 floors when it came out. 0 deaths, so it's not too difficult to clear, but I am looking forward to the later depths. ^^

If this is really how the masquerade fight is, it makes 1000x more sense to just go fight him in base PSO again. Better music, better paced gameplay, better stage environment, better animations, etc.

to be fair ngs masqurate feels easier by alot because boss often idle between attack unlike base pso2

Somehow everything that Sega releases in NGS nowadays all seems unimpressive, they always take the lazy route of copying stuff from base most of the time, the only recent time I remember them doing something creative was with the Elemental damage UQ (and even that is a stretch and gets old quickly), otherwise it's always, slap this guy till he dies kinda thing lol

They should bring back some variety... being in Aelio, Retem, Kvaris and Stia is getting super old, including the digital land of yellows and purples

The PA immunity thing was the best part in base, it made you hsvr to learn the class anf use all the PAs. There aren't enough PAs in ngs to replicate the challenge.

Honestly I don't even care about how Masq is more weak or slower in NGS, but what makes me irk is Sega always just suddenly drop new enemy (new here I mean also an enemy from base game) without a little story explanation. They could just put a lore for new enemies so that players can feel the depth of the enemy their facing. If this is not lazy than I don't know what to call Sega anymore...

Sega just wants to drain money from as much people as possible. It's near enough going the same way as dauntless, in terms of content, in fact NGS is worse since they bring old content from base to NGS and saying it's new. While giving us scratches to spend money on a game that's dying fast. Can't even do UQ even with all Ship match making. wake-up people time is precious, and life is short. Sega doesn't respect your time.

no sure if its a thing but I noticed that if you deal a but ton of damage at the start of a fight (during the sort of cut scene) with riune Masquerade
he will attack waay more aggressively, as if you made him angry for you interrupting his intro for the dual lol XD

It makes sense why this version of the Masquerade is much slower because we in New Genesis move much slower than like how we did in Base back then so yeah it wouldn't make sense for the Masquerade in NGS to move completely like some dragon ball character nonstop, that would be insane.
