Course ground coffe doesn't necessary mean bad taste imo.
One technique I just learn recently is to ground your beans super coarse, like upper limit of chemex coarse. And then use boiling 100C water with decent agitation. The coffe I got from that is heavenly. (Only work with light roasted specialty coffee though)

Not forever. Over time the particles break down. Things like vinegar can break it down too. Tho with ceramic vinegar isn't ideal but pushing water in from the outside will help bring out coffee grounds stuck in the pores.

Not forever, concentrated acid will dissolve the coffee grounds. Dilute, then neutralize, then rinse.

You won't damage your brewer forever, you can autoclave it in your oven

i see the oils clogging it over time. not sure if you can burn that clean without damaging it

the longer I study coffee, the more I realize the goal should be to grind as coarse as possible (while maintaining an optimal final product).
