At ReDriven, we’ll be taking you through the pros and cons of a huge range of used cars to see how well they’re going now that they’re a few years old, have thousands of kilometres on the clock, and are coming toward the end of their warranty, or maybe don’t have one at all.

Plus, thanks to our resident mechanic, Jim, you’ll find out what commonly goes wrong with them and what might need to be fixed.

Most importantly, we want to make ReDriven a voice for the most in-the-know used car experts there are...you guys.. See, you’re the ones that actually buy, live with, love and sometimes unfortunately hate the cars we’ll be reviewing.

So we want to hear your thoughts. Hit us up in the comments, or on Instagram and Facebook.

We’d love nothing more than for you to give us as much feedback as possible, so we can make this channel the best it can be.

I’m 45, 000 miles into my 2018 sq5 prestige and on my 3rd set of tires. The dealer insists that I stop driving like I think I’m Lewis Hamilton and they’re probably right. Amazing car.

Have to say you are the only one who talks about rattles, noise & vibrations in the cabin - For me personally one of the most important part of any car. keep up the good work mate.

I recently bought Audi SQ5 2018 (40 000 km on it), had Golf 7 GTI before.
SQ5 is an amazing car in any aspect, my car doesn't have air suspension (because it's pretty expensive if something goes wrong).

The only issue I have is the rear crankshaft oil leak (so small, that mechanic barely can see it), I'll visit another service to confirm if it's an oil indeed, not sure to instantly replace the rear oil seal (both engine and gearbox have to be detached from the car)

I had a 2018 SQ5. I purchased with 43000 miles which It was still under warranty by the dealer and to tell you the truth I really love the SQ5. I end up replacing it with a 2018 Porsche Macan GTS because Porsche feels more sporty with the PDK transmission but in all the SQ5 is a nice car.

We have had 3 Q5's.. 2013, 2017 totaled hit a deer and 2021. The 13 had over 135k miles never an issue and the 17 had about 75k miles...I completely disagree with your findings

Ive had my 2017 b9 sq5 for 3 and a half years with the only thing wrong being a driver and passenger side window reg.
Hence the nasty sounding drivers window In the video.
It was all covered by warranty.
I'd like to add that my sq5 has had an apr stage 1 e85 tune on it for a while now with no issues at all.
Driveline and gearbox seem great and with multiple mid to low 12 second passes I can't complain.
Thought I'd throw my 2 cents in about the reliability of these great vehicles.

Great review on really the best way to buy german. Here in the states these Q5’s and Sq5’s are not having near as many issues and pricing is much better, used 2018 for about $35-40k

Last week at petrol station, a gentleman next to me filled up one of these with 91 fuel, had a chat with the owner, he said being able to run fine on 91 is the reason he bought this car, amazing.

a lot of meh advice here.... your mechanic doesnt know anything about these cars i guess, q5 and sq5 dont share pistons, or turbos, or intercoolers, or coolant systems. No DSG transmission on the sq5 either. Tons of issues with the 2.0t from q5, not so much for 3.0t

They said it is with DSG☹. Sorry this car has ZF 8 speeds trans not DSG.

My driver's door window was noisy and then stopped halfway. The dealer (UK) changed the "winding" cable under warranty and explained that they had fitted an upgrade.

fake exhausts are not lazy design, they serve a specific purpose - customers said they hated the exhaust tips getting dirty, so they hid the real ones underneath...

Had the uk version from new until 2020 and tbh it's the worst Audi I've owned. More recalls than you can shake a tick at (18 months until they sorted the clunky brake pedal to name but one) then there were numerous intermittent electronic faults that Audi could never pinpoint. Chucked it in for the new 2021 S3 and that so far it is what German engineering should be... on point 👌
Lease a brand new one that way you know exactly the cost and don't need to care about depreciation
Great review you nailed it

That mechanic segment was terrible. He doesn’t even know what transmission is in the SQ5 and the engines aren’t even remotely related. Even the presenter said it was a torque converter not a DSG.

I have the same year Q5 and I get that rattling noise too

Australia must get bad Audi. My co worker has had sq7, sq5, s5, q5, a4 and hes never had issues with any of them

The window mechanism was the subject of a recall. Should be replaced no problem by the dealer. The rattle is probably the panoramic sunroof. They need to be cleaned by the dealer from time to time. Not sure why you mention DSG problems. This car doesn't have a DSG.
