I feel so lucky to have witnessed The Great One as an Oiler. We never missed a game(in the arena, on TV or on the radio). I was in my late 20s when he got here. Hockey history at home that will never be surpassed.
Thank you Wayne (and the rest) for all those great memories.

In 1985 Kurri had 4 playoff hat tricks, including 3 against Chicago. He had 19 goals, tying the record. That same year, Gretzky had 47 points in 18 games.
Those two were magical together.

Gretky while with probably the greatest hockey sense, passing skill and best playmaker ever didn't automatically turn everybody into a goal machine - his linemates and note! defensemen (Coffey) had to be at his level, at least in thinking, for everything to really work perfectly and function. It's a team sport as we all know. There must always be chemistry. Gretzky and Kurri had some more European(no offence whatsoever I love Canada to bits) traits to their game and it worked out as magic.

Gretzky had 49 in the regular season and 8 tying Richard in the playoffs for about 8 years, then with the Rangers he got 2 more. Messier was traded to Vancouver after that and first time there he got his 50th
